Sean Rima

Sean Rima was born in upstate New York in the year 1967.  He began his radio career at WCEI in EastonMaryland, in 1989, and has since worked at some of the top radio stations in the country, including KOA in Denver, and KFI in Los Angeles.

While he has done extensive work in Classic Rock, Alternative, and Hard Rock mornings, his true passion is Talk Radio.  He calls his peculiar on-air style "Gonzo Talk," wherein the focus is to "bring the listener directly into the twisted funhouse of my mind, and let them see the world as I do, with all its irony and weirdness."

He claims no political party or affiliations, and refuses to be labelled Conservative or Liberal, saying such distinctions "limit a person's ability to see things clearly, for what they are," adding, "the universe isn't right or left, it's all around you, like The Force."

On the current state of Talk Radio, Rima says most shows involve "an egomaniac who is either trying to convert you to his party, or prove that he's the smartest dude in the room...both kinds are predictable, and boring as Hell.  My goal is to provide a cool space for the audience to hang-out for a few hours, have a few laughs, and maybe walk away with something new to think about."

Beyond radio, Rima is also an artist, actor, and writer, and has been publishing and performing his original poetry since the early 1990's.  He lists his biggest influences as John Lennon, Hunter Thompson, and Charles Bukowski.  He is currently hard at work on his third novel, and looks forward to getting involved with the Austin art scene.
